Welcome to St. Andrew’s website! We are hopeful that our ministries and programs offer the potential for a meaningful Christian experience for you and your family.
Our vision at St. Andrew is to exhibit the Kingdom of Heaven to the world by
“Living in God’s love, Growing in Faith, and Sharing the Good News”.
Please read below to find out what to expect when you visit. Be sure to explore the rest of our website. Just follow the links to activities that may be of interest to you to learn more about who we are and what we offer at St. Andrew. We have a caring, family-centered environment where all are welcome, including you.
Where are we?
We are on the corner of Danville and Vestavia in Decatur, Alabama. You can enter the parking lot from Danville Road on the west or Vestavia Drive from the south.
Visitor parking is conveniently available directly in front of the covered walkway. The south entrance just past the fountain is the most convenient entry to the sanctuary from the visitors’ parking.
The nursery is located just inside the entrance from the covered walkway.
What to Expect?
We offer Sunday school classes for all ages from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Coffee, refreshments, and opportunities for fellowship are available from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. The choir also has a short practice time during this break.
From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., we offer a traditional worship service which includes a children’s message, Scripture readings, singing with both piano and organ music, and our choir. Dr. Goldman’s sermons are biblically centered, engaging, and always uplifting. Please follow the link below to hear recordings of his sermons.
As you enter the sanctuary, you will be given a weekly bulletin. Please let an usher know if you have special needs such as a wheelchair or hearing aid. The bulletin has the order of service. In each pew will be a friendship pad. Please complete the attendance form inside so we know you visited. Cards for requesting prayers are also available in the pews. They are collected by the ushers during the singing of the first hymn. Please follow the worship link for more details on special worship services.
On Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., we gather for a potluck supper, which is followed by activities for all ages at 6:30 p.m.
Thoughtful and engaging adult Bible study for adults is normally taught by our pastor. A program of food, learning, and play is available for children and youth of all ages.
During the months of June, July and August we meet once per month on Wednesdays. Please follow the link to our calendar for specific dates.
Nursery services are available for all Sunday and Wednesday activities. Please follow the link below to find out more about our educational opportunities.
What to wear?
We encourage people to come as you are comfortable. You will see people dressed in a wide range of clothing, from jeans to dress clothes. We want you to feel at home, so come as you are most comfortable.
What about children?
Children of all ages are welcome at St. Andrew.
On Sunday we have Sunday school for children and youth starting at 8:45 a.m. A children’s message is included in each of our Sunday worship services. Children are welcome in the service.
There is a “cry room” located at the rear of the sanctuary, if needed; and nursery services are available for younger children up to age five for all our Sunday activities.
Our Wednesday children’s program includes faith, food, and fun. We have a potluck supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by Bible study and then a time for music or play. Nursery service is available for all or our Wednesday evening activities.
A variety of other activities are available for children throughout the year including an Easter egg hunt, Trunk or Treat at Halloween, Vacation Bible School, and a children’s play at Christmas.
